whats the difference between mpeg1 and mpeg2 with regards to saving a movie file? anyone...?

MPEG-2 as the numbering suggests is more advanced. You'll get better quality with MPEG-2. MPEG-2 is used for things like DVDs and HDTV transmissions.

MPEG 1 menas VCD bur MPEG 2 means SVCD.

its just a type of MPEG. usually MPEG 1 is meant for burning into VCD.
