I just got some blood work back, I had what they are thinking was pancreatitis, and now i have hih lipase levels. I also have high cholesteral (225) and high Triglycerides (190). Could all of these be tied together somehow, how bad is this really? Please no mean answers and no one telling me i need to ask a doctor, im well aware of that. Just wondering if anyone knows anything about this.

thank you

The pancreatitis is pretty much gone, thats why im concerned about the high lipase.

If you were diagnosed with pancreatitis, it may have been noticed off of this lipase level, and therefore it is obvious that your higher lipid counts (the cholesterol and triglyceride) stem from such diagnosis, or rather the cause for such. It is also certain then this diagnosis was also made through analysis of other levels also, enzymatic.

I had pancreatitis as a small child and it almost killed me. It can be serious. If you are having any symptoms at all get to urgent care or the emergency room instead of waiting for an appointment.

The main symptom of sudden (acute) pancreatitis is moderate to severe ongoing pain in the upper area of the belly (abdomen). Occasionally the pain is mild. However, the pain may feel as though it bores through the abdomen to the back. Sitting up or leaning forward sometimes lessens the pain.

Symptoms of pancreatitis include:
Pain in the upper belly or back.
Nausea and vomiting.
Fever.
Fast heart rate.
Sweating.
Yellowing of the skin (jaundice).
Bloated or swollen belly.
Shock.

Pancreatitis can be a severe, potentially life-threatening illness. It is not appropriate to take a wait-and-see approach, which is called watchful waiting, if you have severe pain in the upper area of the abdomen that does not go away in a few hours.

Pancreatitis is inflammation of the pancreas, an organ that makes the hormones insulin and glucagon. These two hormones help control the body's metabolism. The pancreas also makes other hormones and enzymes that help you digest food.

Inflammation of the pancreas happens when digestive enzymes leak out of the tube (duct) that connects the pancreas to the intestines. The inflammation may develop suddenly (acute pancreatitis) or over many years (chronic pancreatitis). Over time, it can damage and scar the pancreas.

If you are in severe pain, you need to be checked right away. If not, waiting until next week will be fine (and the doctor can give you medication for any infection, cholesterol problems, or high triglycerides).

And, yes, they CAN all be related.

pancreatitis is not related to cholestrol!...but the treatement for pancreatitis is not to have any sort of fat...and your doc will give you medicines..which would be pancreatitic enzymes.
this condition is very painful so please no alcohol or no fat! and even for your cholesterol you need to stop red meat and all saturated fats.no junk food at all!
