I know it's a scam. I get these all the time, too. But it's NOT a sooof. I really did receive this exact letter, and I got a quite hilarious, but longer, one yesterday. (But it was for a trifling five million.)

Absolutely a scam. The federal government is prosecuting this in the U.S. Check to see if your government is doing so, also. They just jailed a guy in New York for this scam. Gave him 20 years, which means he'll serve at least 10.

It's possible that it could be real. I've gotten a few things in the mail about doing pageants. The private interview thing is a bit scary sounding. Does it say the private interview is part of the pageant? (Sometimes they do those and they count towards your score.) If it is before the pageant, I would be very cautious of that. It sounds a little suspicious. If this is a real thing, there should be either a phone number, address, or website on there. Check out the website if there is one, or look up the street address online to see where it is. (If it's a house, it's obviously a scam.) If you decide to really check this stuff out, be sure to take one of your parents/guardians with you. Be safe!!!

I got one for $40 million about 10 years ago. Visit the U.S. Secret Service website, they are the ones investigating such scams, and you can fax the letter to them. I've heard that some people not only lost their money, but also visited the country, got kidnapped and then their family had to pay a ransom. Crazy.

You never get something for nothing - it is a VERY common scam. Unfortunately, there are people who don't question it and send the money.

Never, ever, participate in any blind offer that comes in your email. You will regret it 100% of the time. Tell a friend too.
