I think the blame here lies with the media. The hype they generate is nauseating. Just look at Notre Dame. Notre Dame passes gas and the media trips over itself to find out what it smells like. Another one is West Virginia. They were always rated too high. Also, there is still plenty of hype for USC even though they lost to two unranked teams. Sometimes I wonder if to work in the media you have to have an IQ of 60 or under.
Concerning a playoff system I am all for it and it would solve the problem. However, there is too much money with the Rose Bowl for the Big 10 commissioner to let it happen. Read the articles about Delany. I doubt if I will see a playoff system in my lifetime. Now that is a sad statement.

Yes, I think that last night the SEC was shown to be the best conf this year. Ohio St. Michigan, ND, USC would not have been ranked as high as they were if they had to play a SEC schedule. LSU, Florida, Arkansas, Tennessee, Auburn, come on. Even the middle tier of the SEC teams like Arkansas were good enough to beat any team in the US on an given night. Playing in a conf like that is a nightmare.

Yeah I was one of the ignorant people who were claiming Michigan and OSU were the best. I bought into the ESPN hype machine. I should have known better.
Well it was Florida, LSU, USC and even Boise St that showed up for the bowl games.
This may have been one of the worst big ten conferences ever relative to the other teams.

The big ten isn't a fraud. Just because the Buckeyes and Michigan both lost doesn't mean the entire division in a whole sucks, it just shows that the badgers should have gotten an actual bcs game instead of the stupid capital one bowl for a second straight year (sigh) that rule is stupid, only 2 teams per division can go to a bcs game....STUPID! hate it

The Big Ten needs to beef up its non conference schedule. There is not enough talent in the Big 10 to prepare their teams for schools like Florida. Ohio State playing Michigan is like Ole Miss playing Mississippi State. BIG 10= HUGE FRAUD.

Big Ten = Big Fraud simply tarnishes the wins against the Big-10.
It's no different than saying that the Gators won against an overrated team. OSU has been to the Big Dance before recently and Tressel is very experienced in these situations.
There should be no excuses....They got beat.
