Biased news can be seen in many places. The New York Times is an example of extreme liberal print. CNN & MSNBC are examples of liberal cable news. Fox news is the conservative cable news site.
Reporters cannot help but cast their views on what they report, it is human nature. They will work for organizations that support their views.
It is important to look at many different view points (conservative and liberal) to make up your own mind about what is going on in the world.

It alters the tenor of a story, providing emphasis toward one individual's point of view. It can often be used for effect, especially when dealing with someone who has extreme views or people with a grudge trying to get back at an employer. But that must always be balanced with an opposing view which is portrayed as the more intelligent, objective and relevant to the reader or viewer.

It's important so you don't start to believe the same crap they do. The news media does this every single day and there are so many goofy people who believe what they are told. Everyone has an opinion and the people who bring that information to you have already formed one. There is no such thing as being unbias due for the fact that we are opinionated. Thank you and GOD bless.

A biased source can completely change the feeling of what is said. Take Fox News for example. It is owned by Rupert Murdoch. He is an extreme right wing conservative. So most of the news there is pro-Bush, pro-war etc.
