I ran out of room before. But I just got a wireless D-Link router with a USB expansion. I can get the wii online no problem with it. But the PS3 looses connection fairly simple, especially when doing an update on it. Anyways I have my PC upstairs with the Cable Modem plugged into the router. Then I have the Wii/PS3/Xbox downstairs. I have plugged it all together and powered everything down and powered it back up. Again the wii works fine but PS3 can only find an IP address, no internet connection. Any info/help would be appreciated. I am trying to avoid sitting on hold with my ISP or Playstation support :)

I should add. I also have a way of doing it through a wired connection. Basically like I said I have the PC and Cable Modem upstairs connected through a router, its a wireless/wired router. And plugged in I have a 15 foot Ethernet cable running down through the vents to another router in the basement and from that router is the cord to the PS3. Is it an issue to have the connection going through two routers? They are the exact same type, D-Link. Dont know the model # off hand. Also I have the XBOX360 upstairs connected, through wired means, to the router downstairs. That wont connect online either. So anything plugged into the downstairs router won't get online. Just to add more to the mix. So I am willing/able to do wireless or wired connection. Just wondering if having 2 routers is screwing up the funcionality.

You can change it to static IP giving all units its own IP address. Also make sure the router settings is not blocking or limiting one of the systems.

Looks like you just might need a range extender for the PS3, but maybe you just have a defective ps3.
