Fairly sure that you can't. You could go to a friend's house and browse their's of course. I'm not a fan of itunes or the Ipod, but it does have a decent selection as long as you aren't looking for anything too obscure. There were several albums I wanted but was unable to get via Itunes. I'd just eat the memory hit, download it, and get rid of it after you've browsed. It's a MAJOR resource hog. I personally can't can't wait until Zune releases an 80 gig model. The minute they do my Ipod gets resold.

No the catalog can only be viewed in itunes after the download. If you are looking for alternatives download sites which you can use other an itunes you can check out the sites listed at http://www.ipod-vibez.com they don't charge a per download fee like itunes or a monthly fee I find this to be much affordable alternative and you get music and movies faster than itunes.
