My work is really strict, and i need my job to support myself and my unborn child ( im not married). Anyway i woke up with a sore throat, Im only 10 weeks along. The paper my doctor gave me said if you sick before 12 weeks, try to rest, and drink plenty of fluids so you dont take any medicines which are bad. Anyway im feeling really sluggish and i woke up with a sore throat, so i just called in sick. its a very physcial job so resting is impossible there. Also i have 9 sick days left to use til july ( Out of 11 total) . so did i do the right thing?

I am about to have my 2nd baby any second now and I can tell you it gets much worse for many women than a soar throat and feeling sluggish. I can't tell if you if you did the right thing, because I quit my job with my first baby. But my personal opinion is to try and save those days for the really bad ones. ESPECIALLY if you don't have maternity leave.

After reading your additional notes, I'd recommend changing jobs if at all possible. Use up every one of those sick days first, though as long as they're paid!

I believe; if you are sick you should stay @ home and sleep.
I was in a gov community & the rules were: if you stayed in sick you could not enjoy the weekend activities that others were in enititled to(because you were sick) of that particular weekend following the sick day. So if you are @ home sick, please don't spend any time out in public until you are better unless absolutely nesc.(to buy meds).
It also helps to keep from spreading the sickness to others.
If you have a good work ethic; your employer should understand people do get sick from time to time and allow you time to get better. That's what the sick days are for.
Theraflu is a wonderful med that may get you back on your feet again and you can mix it with other juices (orange, fruit, etc) it helped me when I got sick.

I believe you did the right thing cause if you lose the job there are still plenty of jobs around but there's only one you and then you are pregnant and that may harm the baby. You did the right thing to rest.

Yes, you did the right thing. Right now, you need to take care of yourself and your baby. Going to work might have possibly made you sicker. You have accumulated sick days, and you should take them. Just rest and don't worry about work. I hope you feel better! Congratulations and good luck with the baby.

Hell yeah. You have sick days, and you can use them. If you are fired for using sick days, you can sue your employer. If they give you problems, you can always get a note from your doctor.

I get 3 sick days a year. 11 is nice!

You absolutely did the right thing. Your personal health is always first especially when it's involving the health of an unborn child, always remember that.
