If your wife has had chickenpox, she and the unborn baby will be fine. The mother's immunities stay with the baby for a few months. I was in the same boat when I was about 2 weeks away from my due date with my second son - my oldest got chickenpox.

if she already had the chicken pox she and the babe should be fine but still dont let her be around him to much just for the fact of being pregnant, cause you never know what could happen, but its not like you have to trap her or your son in a room away from each other and also you shouldve taken him to a pediatricin to get some kind of antibiotic and you can ask him or her about it, hey you should bring your son to my house so that my son can get the chicken pox all done and over with hehehe j/k good luck and congrats on the new to come baby

If your wife has already had the chicken pox she should be ok. I think that the majority if the concern is her getting them and being sick with them while she is pregnant. You should still contact your doctor to make absolutely sure. And with what eveyone else is saying about keeping your son away....Hes been contagious for awhile before the sores apperared, Your best bet is to call Doc and find out becausee there are alot of other measures they can take to keep your wife healthy.

chicken pox before she will be fine, the one thing u need to worry about is that if uve had chicken pox you can get shingles when ur older, plus ur son was actually contageous 2 weeks before he got his first spot hes now not contageous any more probably just very itchy, get ur wife checked out just to make sure everything is ok there is no antibiotic against chicken pox but they may be able to prevent shingles that can be bad for any1 let alone mother and baby good luck

We were in the same situation when our youngest was due, apparently it can be harmful to the baby in the later stages of pregnancy if your wife has not had them (my wife could'nt remember so she had a blood test which proved she had it). A visit to your doctor or midwife should put your mind at rest.

I would speak to your doctor ,I had chicken pox when I was pregnant, the baby was fine but when she was 9 months old she had shingles, we have been told she will never have chicken pox but she will get shingles instead which she has had 5 times she is now 16.

If I understand it, if one child is spotty, the infectious period is over.
Check with nhs.direct for an expert opinion on your question and how long you need to wait to see if anyone else has become infected. .
Watch out for shingles: herpes zoster is one of those viruses that can pop up in later life to cause pain and discomfort.

chicken pox has an incubation period of 14 days so your wife has already been in contact with him as has your unborn child , u should really call the midwife or gp ... if i recall correctly it wont harm your unborn child as she is past the all dangerous 12 week period... but call just to be on the safe side !
