i write poetry and my friend critcizes everything i
write...its like its crappy if its not perfect b/c her opinion matters more than anyone elses....so you guys tell is this a bad poem? or is she a bad
friend?
Im lost to the world, lost to why
All I knew and all I felt
Now we must say goodbye.
Memories last from now on
Over the years, you watched me grow
And to you, I am very fond.
Im lost to the mysterious sky
Wondering if you're up there
Waiting as the days keep passing by.
Heartache comes and goes
But the everlasting relationship we had
Stays here always, for me to know.
Im lost to what use to be
Everything that was there
Now seems to fade away from me.
Standing at the floor of the sky
I reach up to your presence
Tears rush in to fill my eyes .
Im lost to where and how you are
I stand here with my heart open
Knowing now that you are not very far.

I really like peoms about losing someone or something. Not that I'm some freaky person but they really seem a lot more passionate and they stand out more. I really like it. Ignore your friend. They're crazy not to like it.

Yes, you keep on writing.. I liked it.. I could see the person in the poem missing her deceased? friend .. it was very touching.
I think your friend might not have the insight or understanding of a sensitive person like you. She could also be jealous or envious of your writing, and her criticism can effect you negatively. Just do not let her read your poetry again, let someone who can help you and guide you read your stuff.. like a teacher or older adult that you admire. With time and experience you will get better.. the main thing is, you have the insight and deep feelings that it takes to be a good poet. Keep on writing, and sharing with the world your insights. Good Luck in your endeavor

Well, it sounds pretty good in terms of the way the language works, but the theme is pretty well the same theme most young poets tackle - the feeling of loss that comes as we age and mature. I don't like to criticize poetry too much, because it is intensely personal. But you might want to check out a sight like poets.org and see how other poets are writing and what themes they are choosing to write on.

In short, being a good poet means capturing a moment no one else has ever captured before.

i liked the poem, but poetry is really a matter of an individuals taste. just because i like it doesn't mean that your friend should.
