She is trying to play to the media. Meeting Chavez is ridiculous. By this, she has displayed her true political colors. If she had any real maternal feelings, she would have honored her son and not attack what he stood for. She is just out to get publicity for herself.

I have never lost an ounce of sympathy for her, likewise for everyone who has lost a loved one in any war. She is a grieving mother, but unlike so many others who's spirits have been crushed, she decided to do something about it. Cindy is NOT trying to make a name, to gain celebrity status. Your accusations are as groundless as those made by Ann Coulter toward to the wives who lost husbands on 9/11, that they too are using a dead relative to gain "celebrity status". All she wants is an end to this hopeless war, so we all don't have to see another American flag draped over a casket of another fallen soldier. If I were her son, I'd be proud and amazed to see what my mother is capable of, trying to bring my comrades home from a war which was mishandled by such an inept military strategy; that she has the courage to stand up to the Bush administration and its die-hard loyalists and say "No More!"
You're painting her as this soulless harpy who hates America and the troops. For someone who would rather be arrested for protesting the war, than go home and do nothing, I see not an ounce of hate for America and the troops in her convictions.
While we're on the subject of this "far-left hate crusade", can you come up with any proof that Cindy Sheehan, or any American who opposes the war and/or the Bush administration, or any left-winger,has ever said they hate America, or the men and women in uniform?

If her son died defending his country, I would say she was out of line. He was prepared to die for his country, but this is an illegal war of aggression,( I know Saddam was an evil monster etc. He was that when the US put him in power and kept him there). Compare this to the last so-called "just war" , WW 2.
Then, everyone was involved, women working in factories, kids on salvage drives to find reusable material, such as tin or other metals to help in the war effort. Those not involved in the fighting, were buying War Bonds & sending parcels to the troops. The free world had been attacked and an all out effort was being made to protect the homeland, be it the US,UK,Canada or where ever.
This current war is being fought to feed one man's ego. How dare anyone sitting at home, partying, going to Football games, and living it up as usual, think, that by giving a bit of lip service to the cause, think they have the right to judge those who are forced to fight this illegal war. Ranting by means of the computer and putting a flag on the front lawn does not make you a hero. It makes you a hypocrite.

Cindy Sheehan did exactly what she set out to do. She gave her son a face when she took this public. You don't seem to understand how ignorant this world is. We have celebrities who get more recognition for pretending to die in wars. Cindy Sheehan doesn't want George Bush to forget who he's sending over to Iraq. He needs to see the faces of these children being sent there for his oil. I don't care what his reason for this war was, the facts speak for themselves on this. You don't have to respect Cindy Sheehan or even like her. I gurantee you will never forget her name now. She did exactly what any other grieving mother would do. She made him human instead of just a number with a weapon. Thank you and GOD bless.

I feel for her also. I believe in freedom of speech and the media-but the media keeps these people alive-so to speak! I refuse to listen to anything about her anymore. She has become obsessed with things that are so far away from the initial issue that I just don't care anymore.
As a parent- I would not look forward to losing a child to a war- but NO ONE forced her son to go to war! There is NOT a draft!
These people who sign up in the reserves for free/ reduced college and then balk at going to war make me sick.

I think if I hear this womans name again I shall scream. My Husband, myself and my Daughter are all war Veterans. Vietnam, Saidi Arabia and Kuwait. I joined the United States Army as a British Subject, I did not to get involved. I love this country and did my part to protect it just like her son. This was a free choice, not a draft. Had I been killed and My family ranted like this I would be turning in my grave, God bless every soldier out there. By the way, not everyone goes in for a college education.

Nope - I never HAD any sympathy for her.
When someone doeos something, I ask myself why. What do they want to accomplish? What is their purpose? I judge that not by what they say their goal is but by evaluating what they do.
What she is doing is making a name for herself. There are ways to protest a war, if you are serious about ending it. She is serious about getting her name in the paper and being famous.
Her son made the sacrifice.
She is making the profit from his death - and profit does not have to be simply financial.
Sympathy? Not a bit.

Like you,I also had sympathy for her,but now lost it. It seems she is trying to recapture some lost rebellious youth. She's a tool for the far left.

Believe me when I say that most of us who live near and or around Crawford have always thought her crazy for her actions.
She has truly made a fool of herself and the memory of her son.
