Hell no. I think the anticipation of dying is alot worse than death itself. That's what make the death penalty so harsh. Personally, I hope to never know what hit me.

I would definitely want to know. I don't think knowing when I would die would get me down - as I know I'm going to anyway. But you could live your life differently e.g. tell boss to piss off about 6 months before hand take out large loan and travel the world, plus I'd take out large life insurance for my family a "reasonable" time before. - Would my bank manager/insurance broker know too? Maybe not such a good plan then.

Yep, then you can get all your ducks in a row, so to speak. Its much easier on your survivors.They go through enough,so anything you can take care of first is better for them.
