Once a fish like a Red Devil decides that the whole area of the tank is his territory, then he will never allow anything else to inhabit it.

The only thing I could suggest is similar to another suggestion. Get a larger tank, minimum 100G, bigger the better. Get it cycled with some dispensable fish, and then put him in there with other fish of similar aggression. They should have enough room in something larger to be able to stake out territories without needing to kill each other.

You may want to try an equal sized Jack Dempsey. If the red devil has been in the tank long enough to become territorial though, it is better to leave him alone. You can put two aggressives together if they enter the tank around the same time, but if one is established, it only makes for more aggression. You may try sectioning your tank for about a week, then unsection it and introduce another fish.

Ohh well, they aren't called Red Devils because they have horns! They are very aggressive fish.
It's hit or miss, really. You may be able to keep him with another, similar sized red devil, or another similar sized large aggressive cichlid, or you may not be able to.
Red devils are usually kept by themselves, with good reason.

If the tank is anything under 120 gallons, do yourself and any fish a favour and keep him alone - they are territorial, they are big, they are strong, and they are best kept solo, unless you are willing to go through the motions of getting him a mate.

Not many! They may or may not do ok with other, larger cichlids. You'll have best results keeping this fish by itself. You may be able to keep it with an opposite sexed red devil cichlid but watch for aggression.
