The BCS is a setup that sees the winners of all six major conferences (Big Ten, Big East, Big 12 Pac-10, SEC, ACC) into glamour bowl games, from this year onwards we've seen an extra Bowl Game added to help teams from mid-majors to get a BCS game (See Utah, Boise State)
The BCS is instead of a playoff system which every other major sport has in the states at every level, only Div 1-A football doesn't.
Whilst Florida won the BCS Championship Game and won the National Title, one voter has voted for Boise State as the National Champion as they are the only unbeaten team in Div 1-A football, and that is why some people hate the BCS.

What sucks is the guy that started this BCS crap is the Big Ten commissioner Jim DeLaney. But this has nothing to do with who is the BEST, it more or less has to do with what our county worships the most...MONEY. That's why the conferences that pulls the most bucks are the ones it benefits. It was ridiculous to wait so long to have a championship game...which by the way was the lowest ranked championship since the BCS started. We fans need to ban together and push for a playoff system like NCAA basketball. It doesn't matter what the rankings are...all that matters is who comes out on top...damn I can't wait for March Madness!! GO DUKE!...(geesh, George Mason?? talk about justice...who woulda thunk it?)

Bowl Championship Series(or the other answer is an out of place C because it is BS.) It is just a name that is basically meaningless. The Big Confrences merged themselves and took their 4 Bowl Games to make them more important. Really though only the BCS Championship game matter.

Bowl Championship Series...aka the worst possible way to rank and decide which team decides to play for the championship title. I wish they would do away with the BCS rankings and come up with a better way to decide which team deserves a shot at the national title...BOISE STATE! (Don't get me wrong. I'm a UT Longhorns fan!) I just think a team that played as well as Boise State deserves a shot at national title level!
