Your feelings are always true. Just because an insecurity can contribute to how you feel......it's still a feeling. Usually an insecurity is your gut telling you something.

As far as I've experienced, yes-insecurities are some horrible weeds in the garden of your relationship. If you recognize there may some insecurities fueling your feelings (and yes,only time can tell) then make the best use of that recognition and time and try to figure out the difference. Or try to figure out your "securities" and focus on the positive aspects of what's going on in your heart/mind.

Your reactive feelings are built off of your life experiences and therefore come from your insecurities, your past, etc. The two are not different.

Open communication with your partner and honesty with yourself. And yes, not knowing the difference can ruin a relationship. That's why you need to be open and honest so your partner can see your motives and help you understand.
