Do I have an hormonal problem?

I think I am hairy for a woman. Is this normal?
- I have a "happy trail" from my navel to my area between my legs.
- I have small hairs (noticeable but tiny) on my chest and breasts.
- I grow small hairs on my upper arms. I spotted one hair on my neck.

Women can acually be as hairy as men.

It depends on

1. sensitisation to testosterone during the first part of fetal life (if you're very sensitised your ring fingers are likely to be longer than your index fingers

2. later exposure to high levels of testosterone (or alternatively low levels of estrogen or low levels of shbg

3. ethnicity. Some groups are hairier than others. Pure-bred American Indian males, for example, can't grow a beard.

The higher your testosterone levels, the hairier you're likely to be.

Among Caucasian women

Almost all have at least a little armpit and pubic hair

A majority have hair on their lower legs

Many have some hair on their upper legs.

Some have hair around their nipples.

Many have a little hair on their upper lips.

Many have hairy arms.

Some have very heavy leg hair and pubic hair.

Sme have hair on their chest and stomach.

Some have hair on their backs.

A great many women have a moustache -- many have to shave it daily.

Many women have hair growth on their chin and many have to shave it daily.

Many women have sideburns.

It doesn't really sound as if your testosterone levels are all that high. The other signs of high testosterone levels would be small breasts, deeper than normal voice, enlarged clitoris and erratic or infrequent periods.

the appearance of hair on your chest and breasts and the stray hairs on your chin especially indicate a high testosterone level in your body...

this sort of stuff has a lot to do with weight (whether you're gaining/losing too quickly), skin type and activity level.. etc., etc... i would talk to your doctor
