When my kids were old enough to walk to their friends houses, without me, that's when I wanted them to have cell's to call me, to tell me, there whereabouts..... Especially, my daughter!!! I am, and always have been very "Overly-Protective" with all of my kids, but ESPECIALLY my girls!!! No one could even babysit, my oldest daughter, except family........Now, she's 27, but, her youngest sister, is only 12 and she doesn't go far out of my sight unless she's got her cell, and she has to be on it talking to me, when she goes across the desert, and across the street to the houses, to her friends, to visit ..... When I feel she's in the safety zone, like within a few feet of her girlfriends back yard, then I tell her she can save on her minutes, now, by hanging-up.... With these "Amber-Alert's" these days, you never can be too safe!!! They've (my youngest son, and daughter) have both had them since they were 10, & 12...... Both the ages, when I started allowing them to walk with friends over to friends houses, and only with friends...... Now, I allow them, to go alone, so long as they stay on the phone with me, you know, until they've reached their destination spots...... Their never too young in my eyes, if it means it'll avoid another "Amber-Alert!!!" Right? Right!!! smile!!!

A kid should have a cellphone in the age of 15 to 19. this because cell phones have a harmful effect.
the radiation from the cell phone effects the masturbating organs and also the heart resulting in ikenemia(a sort of radila cancer)
by the age of 15 to 19 the immune system develops completly and then the radiations will not effect the person.
giving cell phones at a small age can give the child:
Cancer
B.P
retardness
heart attack
ill functioning of the masturbating organ(reproductive organs )

at the right time and when it's required
at the age of 12, it would be way too early
at 14, u cud use a very basic phone for calling and text messaging, nothing else
at 16, u could start using a decent phone without wireless internet connection (without bluetooth, infrared or wifi)
at 18, when a little maturity has been knocked into u, u cud choose a phone u would want to have

I would say when they are young because should anything happen to your kid, wouldn't you want to know where they are or have a way of contacting them? You can get Disney cell phones that only allow your children to call you or certain other numbers that are programmed into the phone like 911. Also a lot of cell phones have GPS trackers, so God forbid, anything should happen to your child and he/she is kidnapped, police can instantly find the child's location.

Today, there are no longer pay phones available, so I got my kids phones when they started going places (like school events and sports) where the pick-up times were not firm.
I bought cheap tracfones and think of them the same way our parents thought of the quarter in your pocket.

I would say 12, or whatever age they start hanging out on their own. I would suggest that a kid should get one when they're are out on their own or out with friends, so, if for nothing else, safetly and so they can check in with their parents.

i think of while a baby is going to intense college, they'd desire to get a cellular telephone. this type you may save track of them, exceedingly on account that they're going to maximum in all probability be using around with pals and not journey person drivers. 9 is relatively too youthful for somebody to have a cellular telephone. I used pay telephones until i replaced into sixteen and it taught me to devise forward (to avert utilising them) and to get exhilaration from the ease of a cellular telephone while i even have been given one.
