What size TV do you own. Is it widescreen or full screen?

Reason I ask is, where I am from every time I go to rent a dvd the majority of them are in widescreen and I don't own one, nor does many people that I know. I was just curious how many actually have them that would make these companies only produce their dvds in widescreen format. Some of them have went to giving a choice for watching in full screen or widescreen and I think that is how it should be.

Thanx for taking my poll!!

I think I will keep my TV, but thanx for the advice. I have an HDTV with surround sound, prologic and 2 very large subwoofers right on the top. I just can't figure out how to change its format, lol. Tired of the black on top and bottom.

I should add, I can't figure out how to change its format while watching wide screen dvds. So as there is no confusion.

We have a 32" fullscreen now, which is better than what I had when I was a kid. Back then we just had a window, and we would sit and watch Uncle Charlie teach his two legged mule to fetch.

the TV doesn't have to be wide screen, it's the style that the movie is shown in, also known as "letterbox", where you see the black bar on the top and bottom of the screen. You can usually choose between formats on a DVD, and it will work on any type of tv. Letterbox is sometimes the preferred viewing format as it lets you see parts of the shot to the left and right that may be cut off in normal format.

unless you are talking about something different

32 inch full screen. i like it and i really dont mind the widescreen movies anymore. i've gotten used to it since the 32 inch is big enough for the black on top and bottom not to matter.

65" widescreen HD, but it can also be watched in mutiple formats. Widescreen in so much better. I would recommend getting one.
Hope this helps, Good luck

I have a 24 inch I think. watching movies in wide screen is loyal to the original version, includes more footage. In non-wide screen they cut off the ends, so you don't see all of what you should.
