Go to bed at a reasonable time, and set a couple of alarm clocks. It helps me to drink a lot of water before bed too, so I kind of HAVE to get up.

Use 2 alarm clocks. Put 1 by your bed and 1 across the room. Set the one across the room for about 5 minutes later than the one next to your bed. That's what I have to do! Hope this helps!

My son is like this, a louder alarm clock only works until he can hit the snooze..... What I did was place 3 loud alarm clocks in his room, each one farther from the bed. I set each alarm clock to where the next one goes off a few minutes after the last, that way if he lays back down, he has to get up and walk farther to turn off each alarm. If instead he walks around the room to turn them all off...he is awake. This was only needed for a short time because it caused him to condition himself to wake up on the first alarm rather than deal with the rest. I kept the other two just in case he starts to slip back up.

On a day I have to work I hit snooze 5 times, but on a day I have off I woke up without an alarm at the same time I normally would with an alarm. I think it's about setting a rountine for your body, try to go to bed at the same time every night, and give yourself 7 to 8 hours of sleep

You can also buy a natural light/false dawn light for your room. About half an hour before you have set it for your getting up time, it gradually starts to switch on a light. It behaves like sun-up, convincing your body gradually that it is time to get up. You don't get the sudden jolt of an alarm that way.
Though as you have been sleeping through the alarm, I can only reiterate the other suggestions - get a louder alarm, put it on the other side of the room so you have to get out of bed. I have a CD player with a timer on it so I set it for music to play instead of a beeping alarm and I set the volume really loud so I really couldn't sleep through it!

You can have someone call you to wake you up or get a louder alarm clock.

If you have a TV in your bed room, it probably has a timer on it, maybe you could set that to come on, the volume, determined by you, should wake you up better.
