do you use a CRT (the big size one) monitor? if yes, it mean a part of the component are start to get "fat" (grow bigger) due to long time use. Soon you will hear some low "pop" sound, after that all gone (the graphic) to save it please sent to shop to repair it cost around RM50-RM70.

A life time for CRT is 2-4 years, a LCD will be around 20,000 - 40,000 hour after that your screen will be darker and darker until blank.

Happy Trying...

I had a Gateway do the same thing. I did all I could think of but,
it didn't matter. 3 or 4 hours after it started it died. ( Thank God
for warranties )

the subject is in all probability out of your audio device, the magnets can wreak havoc with video show instruments, attempt shifting them faraway from the show screen and see if the discolouration disapears. opportunities are high that it will.
