Do you hate helping them move every year? Do you want them to stay put? Try something that will make them want to stay- like an interior decorator.

Or you could get them a custom neon that says "(insert name) LIVES HERE... FOR NOW"

The answers you already have are pretty good...

But I am not the type of person that likes to give people what they need but rather what they want. People purchase what they need on their own. Just think about who they are and what they're like. Maybe they're fans of a good chicken pot pie which you can make for them. Maybe they like chimes but rarely get to buy them. I don't know really. It just seems like this gift would have to be simple but well-appreciated when received.

If they are moving yearly, I'm assuming they are renting. If they are just renting you don't need to buy a gift and if you do it should be something small. A bottle of booze, a candle, something like that.

Apple boxes, tape, a Sharpie permanent marker and a journal.

Then, supply them with a note of instruction...advising them to number all of their boxes (top, sides, bottom) and use the journal to write down what is in each numbered box...that way...each and every time they move...they know what's in each box.

Digital camera. (Every time they move, some things will become lost, never to be seen again. This way, they can take a picture of everything, and review the pictures. "Yeap, I'm not crazy, I *used* *to* have a piano.)

A lifetime supply of industrial strength boxes or coupons for free storage bins from Lowe's. I'm probably moving sometime this year, were you thinking of me? ;)
