because that's often the target of a lie - to hide unpleasant things, right? so it makes perfect sense that when the truth does come out , we suffer, not only because of the truth but also because of the fact that we feel deceived and insecure about who is reliable and who isn't.
sometimes we choose to lie to ourselves subconsciously because of a sense of self preservation. we choose not to see some things that go on around us that might hurt us. so when somebody else brings forward what we chose not to see through our logic, it's a slap in the face...which is unpleasant, unless your a masochist

truth is always unpleasant ?
The above statement can be understood with the help of an
example,if there are two students A and B. if A student works hard and get the good result then the truth of getting marks is not unpleasant but if B won't work hard and EXPECT that he will be passed in the exams but he won't pass and in this situation he truth becomes UNPLEASANT.
so it depends upon the hard work in my opinion.
However , in some cases the TRUTH is UNPLEASANT if a person had expected something and if unluckily he won't get that thing up to the expectations then the truth become UNPLEASANT.In other words ,if a person gets less than the expectations than the truth becomes UNPLEASANT.............

Truth is truth. It is neither pleasant nor unpleasant in itself. What makes it pleasant or unpleasant is which side you are on - on the side of truth or on the opposite side. That is a logical analysis.

However, there is more to life than logic. There are hopes, wishes, and dreams. Practically, we don't even want to know the truth. We only want to fulfill our wishes. Compared to what we expect, consciously or subcosciously, what we get is always too little too late. We expect much more than the truth. So when we know the truth, we are disppointed.

If we learn to expect the truth, and rise above self-deception, truth can be pleasant. In fact, in that case, nothing but truth will be pleasant.

It isn't always unpleasant. Sometimes when someone hears truth, it feels familiar and like home to them.

well, it can hurt the one's we care about, unless we're trying to hurt them on purpose. but, it can be relieving, provide stress relief....i'd rather hear the truth and be hurt than hear a pleasant lie. i wish people would always be truthful with each other. it's what we're lacking in this world....makes it a sad place to live....
i hope you choose the right path....
