I am using a company called Sitesell. This is the very first time I have built a website, so I needed a company who could take me by the hand, step by step!
I have nothing but praise for them! They make EVERYTHING so easy! They supply all of the online training, simple (yet incredibly sophisticated tools) and excellent support.
The cost is just $299. That includes all of the above plus domain registration. They even supply the templates for designing your site! And don't worry about html coding or other techy stuff as that's all taken care of for you!
My site is only 9 months old. It is already very highly ranked by the major search engines and is attracting up to 1000 hits a day! Plus it makes money which not only covers the costs, but actually shows a decent profit!
You can get more info from my information page at:

Please feel free to contact me through my site if you would like anymore info or advice.
Best wishes

I have been making and running web sites since I was 15 years old (now almost 25) and one thing is for sure, each site is different and requires more/less money.
The domain names are all pretty much the same if they are all dot com or dot net, the web hosting can be different for nearly all of them depending on the amount of space your site takes up and the amount of bandwidth it dishes out.
Then you have to factor in whether or not you'll pay for a web designer, a programmer or someone to design your graphics (like your logo). Or perhaps you want to hire an SEO/SEM individual to help bring traffic to your web site.
Then there's the shopping cart systems. Some are free (but aren't very good), some cost money. The free ones aren't worth using so you need to find one your web site can run and do some price checks.
There are many things that factor how much a web site will cost to make and maintain.

We went thru Levelfield, and they charged 500 for the first year, this included all the start up for a new site, then for maintainance each year we pay 250.00, we get alot for the $, and it's easy to make on the spot changes.
