It means that you are about to experience a drive crash. Make sure the data is backed up and replace it ASAP.

The clicking could either be the motor is having a hard time getting up to speed or the R/W heads are beginning to fail.

Again, I repeat, back up your data before you need my data recovery services.

If so, it mean your HD is almost time to said bye bye. Some other problem may coz this happen is like you using a p2p program to download something it will do the read & write hundred time in a minute so it coz your HD blow, the HD cable got some problem (can try to change it) or the jumper on the HD is wrong.

Just a piece of advise, when a hard drive starts clicking it's time to do a major backup, it's probably close to a fatal failure.
