Are all integrated dishwashers a standard fit, and can you fit one into a standard cupboard unit? Or do you need a special unit / specific unit for the model of the dishwasher?

from experience of my own kitchen - i am not a fitter, it goes into a space between units approx 600mm wide. It does not go into a cupboard unit. The door depends on the type of dishwasher but if it is fully integrated the door panel fixes to the front of the dishwasher which hinges downwards

You dont actually need a unit to fit an integrated dishwaher, what you do is remove the unit where its going, which has to be a 600mm wide unit or a 450mm wide unit for the smaller ones, then you slide the dishwasher into the space and fit the door that was on the unit you have removed onto the dishwasher then you will need a piece of plinth that fits at the bottom( or kicker board), thats if its a fully integrated dishwasher- which is where the controls to work the dishwasher are on the top on the appliance door when its open. If you can see the controls when the dishwasher door is shut the you will need to cut the door down in height by 150mm so the door measures 565mm high x 597mm wide.

A full size integrated dishwasher fits into the SPACE that a cupboard takes up i.e. 600mm. NOT inside an actual cupboard which is about 570mm inside size. So if you can remove a 600 wide unit a d/w will fit in, you will have to fit the door as suggested above or cut one down if sem-integrated.

I bought one last year, and I found that they vary by a couple of cms, which meant that the one I wanted was too big. You need to do your homework and find out the exact measurements of your cupboard and the machine you're after. Have a look on Kelkoo, for example, which will take you to the site with the info for each machine.

You don't need a special unit, just the usual cupboard, so long as it's got a hole cut out of the back or side for the pipes, and access to a plug. The fitting info will come with the machine.

A standard dishwasher is 60cm wide & 60 cm deep. Will fit in a intergrated space but up will need to lose the kick plinth of the kitchen & will probably stick out about 2cm from worktop because of pipework & worktops are only normaly 60cm deep.

normally go in between 2 units next to the sink they just slide in and sit on the floor you can get ones that fit in cupboards but are nasty to fit and do bad things when they leak take out the cupboad and the door and the droor front screw together with a metal plate then fix to the dishwasher with the fittings that come with the dishwasher instructions are provided

i have just removed mine from my cupboard(by the way it was a really long job!) and it is not the standard size, it is slighty smaller, the same goes for the fridge which i also removed. You will have to buy special one as they have fittings which actually fit onto door and the upper part of the cupboard. If u look in local newspaper u can probably get a second hand one as they r fairly expensive.
