1) Find a sponsor! 2)Order uniforms! 3)Have tryouts in the age group you're in - remember to disenfranchise the parents in their desire to "help" you coach the team or you will become a figurehead and the team will be a "star" vehicle for someone's child. (Hopefully by the time tryouts are finished, the uniforms will have arrived.) 3) make sure that your equipment is in good shape and your practice facility is open and available - have a practice schedule ready and games for your players lined up - might be a good idea to have a business manager on hand before you start.
