Beleieve me you know when your water breaks. its like a gallon of water comes out of you or a constint trickle of water. You, not to be gross, might of just peed on your self. I really don't think it was your water.

It's normal to have increased discharge in late pregnancy. It may just be that.

If your water has broken, you would probably notice an almost constant leak.

The easiest thing to do to tell if it is your water or urine is to put on clean, dry underwear and a pad or pantiliner. Then you'll want to lay down for about a half of an hour. If the fluid is amniotic fluid, it will pool or gather in the vagina while you lay down.

During this half an hour, spend time gathering your thoughts. Are you packed and ready for the trip to the hospital? Do you need to call anyone like your husband or doula? Try to do a fetal kick count or make note of your baby's movements as well. You can also use the time to take a quick nap.

At the end of the time, simply get up and go back to the bathroom. Here is where we checked to see if the pad is wet or dry. A dry pad means that your water is most likely not broken. What you experienced could have been an increase in mucus discharge, a small leak from your bladder or other common late pregnancy nuisances.

If you are still unsure, it would be wise to call your caregiver. They usually only let you go so long after your water breaks before they will want to help you along if you aren't in active labor.

Call your doctor. It could be discharge, but that sounds like a lot. Was the fluid clear or more like mucus? If it was clear, you could have a high leak. Either way, you should call your doctor and talk with the nurse - they'll be able to more accurately tell if you need to come in today or if you can wait until tomorrow. They can also do a quick test in the office to tell if it's amniotic fluid. Also, once your water breaks your baby is now being exposed to thing from the outside, and the longer you wait the more at risk it will be to infection. Why not play it on the safe saide and call the doctor?

All lady are different. Alot of girl have got to have their waters broken for them during labor or as a type of inducing which was my case with my first child. With my 2nd baby i went into labor myself 1 week early and about an hour before i had my daughter i was mendacity on the bed and heard a gigantic bang, then i felt a tremendous gush of water. Any individual lady do not lose there water like this it might occur step by step over a couple of days. In the event you believe your waters have damaged then you definitely will have to go to the health facility given that your child might be at hazard of illness when now not surrounded by using the amniotic fluid.

If your water truly broke, there would be a LOT of fluid, not just damp underwear. It might be slow continual leak, or a small release of urine. You need to go see your doctor at any rate to find out what it is because an amniotic leak at this point can leave you open to infection.

Call the doctor. If you felt a gush when you stood up or have felt a continuous leak your water broke otherwise the baby was pressing on your bladder. Make the call to be safe.

You really cant. But I would call your doctor anyways. If it was your water and the baby doesnt come out within 24 hours, you can get infections and the baby could get sick. Call your doctor. Good luck

I would go for sure to make sure because you have to deliver the baby within 24 hrs. of water breaking or you will be messing with you and your baby's life. That is not crazy to call and come in to have him check you to make sure( it is quick and easy test) DO NOT WAIT AROUND!!( your water might have a leak in in and you will have to go into labor anyways...so call)
