France and U.K. were constant rivals in history and have never really been fond of each other. But i think that most English don't just dislike French but all the other nations. They have a superiority syndrome and act snobby as if they are the center of the world.this does not apply to all but for having lived there for some time i experienced it well.
As for Greece and Turkey there were far more greater problems between the two countries and a lot of pain ,blood ,massacres and fights. Greeks have suffered a lot but the new generation of both Greeks and Turks are willing to get along very well with each other and forget the crimes of the past but both governments and politics are still creating problems.

Because they have been traditional enemies for a thousand years or so. Henry II took France for England and it would still be an English country if his sons had any common sense.
But the biggest recent fuc-kover was the French helping the Americans beat England in the American war, even though they hated the Americans as much as they still do.
Greeks and Turks have smiler issues, only theirs is about 3000 years old.

No, the French are good people. I think it's because we're almost exactly the same size in population, economic strength, power etc. We're perfect rivals, and of course we're neighbours. In the world every country (pretty much) hate their neighbours.
I don't hate France at all, in fact I admire so much about it. It's just a rivalry, which is very different.

i think most people dislike the FRENCH, except for the french of course
BUT, France is a great place to visit to see the sites and the art only if you go off-season when the locales aren't all uppity and disgusted with tourists.

It is because France sucks and spreads syphilis. Greece hates Turkey because they raped and tormented them for so long and forced their Church underground during the Ottoman Empire.
