When I was your age I went to bed at 10:30. On weekends I went to bed when I felt like it which was about midnight on a normal night

When I was 12, usually I had to be in bed on weeknights at about 9 or 10. Weekends I could go to bed anytime--since there was no school the next day. Now I'm 28 and always tired!! lol Sounds like school nights are reasonable, but weekends you should be able to stay up a lot later than 9:00, so maybe talk to your parents about that?? Good luck.

if ur having a hard time getting up then go to bed when your parents say, they are not being strict they are looking out for whats best for you, they dont want you going to school half asleep do they?
on weekends they could let u stay up a little later as long as u get up at a decent hour. prove that u can get up early on weekends and help mum with things maybe then she will let u stay up a little later
remember everyone needs at least 8/9 hours sleep per night, it keeps us alert and full of energy!

You need nine hours of sleep, so 9:00 or 10:00 is good for school nights. Others than that, it depends on when you wake up

well I think that in the end its your parents decision about your bed time. MAybe you could present a time that would work for the both of you. Like maybe you could negotiate with them and see if they might let you stay up just an hour more than your used to. Then if you can handle that maybe they would let the arrangement be a permenant one. The key is not to go too big too fast in your requests. You usually end up back where you started if you approach the situation that way.

I think 9:00 is a good time for you to be going to bed but if you have problems getting up then maybe it is good it is earlier. I think on weekends 10:00 is a good time.

You need at least 10-11 hours of sleep a night at your age. So 8pm on weeknights isn't a bad idea. I have an agreement with my son that if he will get up in the morning when his alarm goes off without me having to come get him up I let him stay up till 9pm. But if I do have to get him up, and he sleeps past his alarm, that night he goes to bed at 8:30. He doesn't have to get up until 8am though, so take that into consideration.
Weekends are another story, I am not so strict on weekends unless we have to be somewhere early the next morning.
If you feel that you should be allowed to stay up later during the week, try to ask your parents to let you try it if you promise to get up with your alarm in the morning. They might let you?
Good luck!

In today's world, kids get so much homework and have to go to so many afterschool things that it's hard to fit in sleep. I think as long as you get 8 hours of sleep a night, it's okay. But try talking to your parents reasonably and maturely about a later bedtime, they will end up respecting you more. Good luck!

I would say you should be in bed no later than 10 pm. I think that 9 pm would be a reasonable compromise.
