First off I was in the Air Force so I don't consider myself spineless, but I'M NOT A CONFRONTATIONAL PERSON! I was told by three different men in the church, that I was wrong for not standing up for my wife. My question to the men is if some one especially from your family puts your wife down in any way would you stand up for her? Even though she is confrontational and can stand up for herself? And women would you want your husband to stand up for you? My wife says I'm spineless cause I do not stand up for her.Am I wrong?

If your wife says you should stand up for her, STAND UP FOR HER.
You probably want her to respect you right? You would earn her respect by protecting her. To a woman a verbal attack is just as painful as a physical attack.
My husband is not a confrontational person either. He will stand up and protect me or our kids though. His love for us is more important to him than his comfort and because of that, he has the respect of his family.
I'd suggest you apologize to your wife and start practicing in the mirror so that you are more prepared to stand up for her.

I did experience this once with my now ex husband I did nothing wrong at all except take care of him and my children and this friend of his was very jealous anyway this man verballed me for 5 hours and that spineless man off mine said absolutely nothing, was not there for me at all,he pretended to be asleep. I would never just stand there and allow my family or friends to disrespect him.If they have a problem talk about it nicely, but you are her partner in life her offsider you might say
Well where were you?????????
If you can protect your country why not your wife???
You don't have to be confrontational just say something let them know its not right and that is your wife and for them to act respectful

Lift your game I reckon God bless

I would freak out if my husband didn't stand up for me. Mainly because how could he allow someone to say something bad about his wife right or wrong? Our 7 year old back talked me really bad one day and my husband said "don't ever talk to my wife that way!"

because she can stand up for herself, it does make it seem you will allow anyone to abuse/make her feel or look bad without saying anything,,she is stood there waiting for you to say,,"dont speak to MY wife that way" and you are stood there thinking,,'any minute now she is going to say something back to them",,even strong women want their spouse to speak up for them,,it shows others that even thought she has a mouth on her that you will not let anyone treat her bad while you are there,,you obviously like a feisty women but underneath she is the same as all of us,,she needs cuddles, kisses, romance,(occasionally),holding hands,,all the things that show we are loved,,they may be small and to you this problem may seem slight but to your wife it could make her feel sad,,not angry, not ashamed, not disappointed but sad,,,,and sad is something that can hurt.a man who can let his wife speak up for herself is good but a man who can stand up for his equally abled wife is better,,you are the man and she is YOUR woman,,and no one is allowed to talk to her that way.
