Well, I would say that BO is actually a pretty bright guy. He's got a job where he can say pretty much what ever he wants to say about anyone he wants to talk about and he apparently doesn't have to be too concerned whether or not what he says is true or factual. So, no, I don't think he has rocks in his head.

Now, as for the what's inside the heads of the people who believe anything that BO says, well that's another question.

Rocks, or maybe....nothing?

Bill represents an important market segment...The Conservatives traditionally think that their opinion or point of view should be the only point of view. So when high profile people affirm their beliefs, they, the conservatives, immediately fall in love with them and will defend them to the bitter end. Nothing more gives conservatives comfort than consensus, they feel that if more people believe the same than that keeps them warm and safe at night.

So, when character's flaws catch up with their moral standard bearers, such as Bill or Rush, then they talk about understanding and forgiveness...any PR move to protect or further the conservative cause, even in the face of hypocrisy. While at the same time they will use that same moral standard to discredit people of has different views than the conservative one. That's why they love to throw rocks at people that challenge their ideas.

Like most commentators who have a daily show, he is off base on some but hits a home-run on many issues that are not addressed in the mainstream press.
