I don't see any way he goes any later than #3. But, I don't see the Raiders drafting him over Quinn or Russell.

But man what a tough decision for them. CJ will be a perrenial Pro Bowler I'm sure. Would be hard to pass him up! I agree, he might very well be wearing orange and brown next season, since Detroit could really benefit from the leftover QB spoils of whoever is left after pick#1.

Danny G....

I think Calvin Johnson is one of the best receivers I've EVER seen in college football (other than Larry Fitzgerald)...He was a Man playing with little boys on the Field. He has the total package. Johnson has a rare combination of size (6-4, 235), speed (4.37), strength, leaping ability (47.5" vertical), body control, and hand-eye coordination. He plays like he's 6-7!.....West Virginia had NO answer for him in the Bowl Game.

Mel Kiper had him rated #1 on his Draft Board as soon as he decided to go pro...I was kind of worried that he would not come out his Junior Year because his mother has a PhD and I figured that she would want him to finish college.

I think he will go no lower than #5 on the Draft Board. I don't think that Oakland will take him. I think that if Detroit passes up on him, Cleveland may take him. It all depends on what each team needs for positions. Detroit may feel that they have drafted too many receivers in the past in the 1st Round and may concentrate on other needs. The 2007 NFL Draft will go down in history as the Wide Receiver Draft. If a team needs a good one, they can go as deep as the 3rd round. I think that he can be a possible Rookie of the Year candidate in the NFL. Most receivers in the past in their rookie year don't make an impact, but I think that CJ is an exception. Any team who passes him up in the Draft is foolish and will regret their decision!

CJ IS A BEAST!!
Can't wait til NFL DRAFT!!!!

Johnson is without a doubt in my mind, the best overall player in this years draft.
I think the Raiders, being that neither Moss nor Porter are coming back, almost have to take Johnson at #1. It would be a way better pick than Brady Queer
They can either stick with Brooks for another year, shop the FA market for a QB, or pick one a little later in the draft (I'd shop around)

It is absolutely possible he will be drafted in the first round...I'm predicting the top 5. Being a browns fan, I would love to see the Browns take him with their 4th pick, but knowing the Detroit Lions draft history (have used top pick for a split end 3 of the past 4 drafts), I wouldn't be surprised if they picked him up with the second pick.

Detroit Lions Draft History:
2003: Round 1: pick 2: Charles Rogers (WR)-Mich ST
2004: Round 1: pick 7: Roy Williams (WR)-Texas
2005: Round 1: pick 10: Mike WIlliams (WR)-USC

i imagine that your plan is in accordance to a good number of hypothesis. baltimore needs a receiver, yet i don't believe of that they are going to furnish a kings ransom to snag johnson even as they could merely objective a number of them contained in the draft. i imagine that communities watched and realized from the roy williams deal and maximum do not favor to make that style of mistake lower back. as for detroit, they ought to make each attempt to renounce him. the most important challenge with that company is they look to have a sparkling sport plan like all 5 minutes. how can you assume the followers to get excited even as every time that you get an exhilarating participant, you commerce them away or enable them walk in loose organization? quite frankly, that crew is fortunate that lions followers are merely about fanatically unswerving. if that crew change into in jacksonville, they could were in la by now.

Somebody in the Top 10. I hear Detroit is looking for a WR (ha ha). Minnesota or Atlanta maybe.
