Aside from getting some kind of professional treatment for depression, I can think of several things you can do:

(1) Get out of your house and excercise. Just walking is great exercise. Find a safe place to walk, and walk until you are tired. Your body will release endorphins which make you feel better. Never, ever, just sit in your house and brood over your problems. Keep busy through exercise and meaningful activities.

(2) Pray. Get in touch with your Creator, and tell (whatever your concept of God is) all about yourself and your problems. Ask for divine help, for healing, for solutions to your problems and listen in your heart for answers.

(3) Find another person whom you can help in some way. Human beings are never more noble than when they help another human being. It will remind you that you have much to give, and that you should share your blessings with others. Go to a nursing home and offer to read to patients, or just visit them and listen to their hopes and fears.

I hope these suggestions help you, my friend. You will be in my prayers.

Stop picturing how sorry everyone will be at a funeral you won't be able to see, and then grasp the concept of eternity. It NEVER ends. Like a ring or a circle. That's FOREVER! So don't jump from the frying pan into the fire. Do you think an afterlife depends on what you DECIDE it is? No. It is what it is and you apparently aren't even considering what that might be. Pain blinds people. You are looking at a permanent answer to a temporary problem. Think past your pain.

In 1978, after losing yet another job, and having no girlfriend, no friends of any kind, and no prospects for the future, I decided to end it all.
I went down to a gun shop to purchase a .44 magnum (I wanted to do the job right!) and one box of ammunition.
What I hadn't counted on was having to wait for two weeks to be cleared through the system.
"No problem," I told the gun shop owner, knowing I'd be cleared, "I'll see you in two weeks."
Then, one week later, the rent came due. Now, I could fork out $600 for another month's rent, wait a week, then pay $200 for the gun and kill myself, or I could leave. I left.
Had I carried out my intentions that day (and there's no doubt in my mind I would have) i would have never known the love of my life; come to an understanding of the universe around us.
At times like this, the problems; reasons you believe suicide is your only answer, a magnified one hundred fold. But are they really that serious?
Remember, you're considering a PERMANENT solution to a temperary problem.

I know how that can be as I have been there mysels. As was already mentioned you should seek a therapist. You should stay away from negative people and music. Listen to upbeat music, think of all the people who would miss you if you were gone. Get out more and do things that make you happy. Good luck. I hope you find the help you need

See a therapist and/or counselor. Find out why suicidal thoughts exist. In other words, find out what problems need to be solved for the thoughts to go away. Then, solve the problems and the thoughts will go away. It sounds easy but is, in fact, very difficult to do. Still, it is not impossible, as people have done it. You can do it, too.

You can see a counselor or you can call a suicide line. Also, everyone has thoughts of suicide at some point. Most people do not act on it. Go see a chaplain (deacon, priest, or what ever you call the officiant at a church of your choice). Any one of these people can get you help.

Talk to someone you can trust like a priest or a councilor, you can also find something to do like a hobby or watch a movie and get your mind off your troubles.
