Both are now mostly aluminum. Colored mirrors are sometimes made from other metals, and metallic compound (yellow mirrors are often Titanium Nitride), and some times dyed.

Heated aluminum vapors deposit on the surface under vacuum, much like steam fogs a piece of cold glass. A very long time ago mirrors were made with silver, but that became very expensive.

Given that some forms of Chromium are cancer causing, definitely NOT chromium. Chromium is a very controversial pollutant these days, highly regulated and at least 10 times more expensive.
