You should start feeling it at 5 months. The first kicks are not very strong and sometimes hard to recognize in first time pregnancies. Drink a cold glass of water and you should start feeling it after a few minutes. Also it is possible that your baby could be more active at night while you are sleeping and less active during the day. Some people start feeling it at 18 weeks and some don't feel it until 23 weeks. It's different for everyone so just give it a little more time. You probably are just having a hard time recognizing it.

Dont freak out because you "think" you may or may not feel your baby move. If this is your first child you may not feel it for several weeks after 20 weeks. You are more likely to notice the movement more often (as early as 16 weeks)if you have had prior pregnancies and births. Being only 20 weeks pregnant, your baby is still very little and it might be moving, you just might not be able to feel it. Here's a hint if you want to feel your baby move: eat something sugary (juice or a piece of fruit) then lay down on your left side. Usually if you are far enought along your baby will move! Note to yourself what it feels like. You might not be able to feel it during the day if you are on your feet for long periods of time. As the weeks progress you will be able to feel the baby move more often and it will also feel the kicking movements harder. As long as you are feeling your infant move inside you everyday, there is nothing to worry about! If you are really concerned that something is not right, call your dr immediately they will reasure you that what you are feeling is normal , and if you still dont feel comfortable they will tell you to come in to get checked out.

You usually feel the baby move at around 19 weeks for a first baby and a bit earlier on subsequent pregnancies.
It feels a bit like wind at first.
Later on it feels like it does if you push your tongue up and down on the inside of your cheek try it place your hand on the outside
and later still they are real kicks.
The baby will be moving on and off all day. They have definite sleep times where you don't feel much and then definite awake times when it feels like you have a whole football team playing inside of you.
Enjoy your pregnancy and all the best with the birth of your son or daughter.

As long as you know that baby is okay, I wouldn't worry. If you are concerned, make an appointment to see someone. The little one will be turning somersaults in there and you may not be able to feel a thing! I felt my first child move at 16 weeks, and the second was 18 weeks, but it was very occasional, mainly at night. By around 24-26 weeks you should be feeling plenty of movement, but even then it varies. You'll be getting huge kicks in the ribs in no time!

i felt movement at 18 weeks and it was far and few between and now I'm 21 1/2 weeks and shes kicking me quite often.
but everyone is different and it all depends on the position and the size of the baby plus the amount of amniotic fluid etc.
don't worry just wait until your further along and the baby has less room to move and you can feel every little movement.
good luck and congrats

I first felt my baby move at about 18 weeks; however, it's fairly light at first, and 20 weeks isn't all that different. If you are concerned, though, go to your doctor and get an ultrasound. That will tell you what you REALLY want to know.

With my first son, I felt him for particular at approximately 17 weeks. you're able to be able to correctly be feeling it, you purely will possibly no longer understand that that's a kick or circulate. Do you sense bubbles or something like gently popping corn on your abdomen? relatively tiny flutters? i do no longer think of i in my opinion felt a real kick till on the brink of six months. do no longer bypass out of your recommendations. If it is your first being pregnant, you on no account understand what you sense! Many, many first time mothers don't sense flow till way later. i think of I purely felt flow at 17 weeks because of the fact i replaced into at artwork at an uneventful table all day and purely sat and waited for that tiny flutter! while you're busy or the kicking is mild or once you're a sprint obese I heard you sense flow plenty much less. you would be positive!!!! that's confusing to tell you to no longer concern, notwithstanding it is going to furnish help to to appreciate that i think of it is common to no longer sense something yet. additionally, get used to the stressful!!! It starts in being pregnant and does not cease-EVER! purely verify out all my paranoid questions approximately my young infants at right here!
