No, you're not alone at all. They're dripping in mediochrity! He's not that fantastic a singer, the music isn't that good, and for god's sake TAKE OFF THEM DAMN SUNGLASSES!! Pfft.. Bono! What a tool! I think he's the worst thing about them, how did they get so big with him as there frontman?? I seriously don't get the whole U2 thing??

It's a matter of opinion. They are my most favorite band, so they aren't average to me. To each his own. I live in an area where rap and pop are the norm, which I don't listen to at all. I work with kids and they think I'm nuts when I don't recognize the newest Black Eyed Peas song. I'd rather listen to my U2 CDs anyday.

You ever seen them live? They put on one hell of a show and those songs, those anthemic songs are amazing when you have 20,000 people all singing along.
The reason they are so great is because they appeal to a huge cross section of people all over the world. They are not demographically pigeon holed like Rap or Heavy Metal. Awesome band but once again it's all a case of personal choice isn't it.

I am glad you (and I) are not alone.
I remember in the 80’s when Sunday, Bloody Sunday was released and it seemed like everyone loved U2 then and I felt like I was the only one that did not like them (as a band).
I have never liked their musical works. Then and now.

I suppose this would depend on how old you are. I am not saying that if you are young you can't appreciate them, I just know that if you were in my generation, you would think they were more than good. I won't lynch you though. You are allowed to have an opinion.

If you had asked me that question in the 80s, I wouldn't have agreed with you. Now, however, I do agree with you. Their albums as of late have been average at best.
