i am looking for ideas for a career! i am studying german and history at uni but still have no idea what i want to do at the end of it! I would like something enjoyable and pays well. Any ideas will be much apperciated! thanks!

You can teach german. Private students are better as they do have a desire to learn (also pay is better, I think you can charge between £10 to £20 per hour).

Foreign Office (Try for the Diplomatic Corps if you are at a Red Brick University), Home Office.

Obviously you are limited if you wish to move on to train for a formal profession.
Accountancy would be favourite as the ICAEW do not require a relevant degree for you begin a training contract. This would give you a very marketable qualification with a wide range of national and international options.

There is a shortage of Nurses, police, fire and other civil service type of work. I'd start there.
