1st: Go to the school the kids are in & tell them you are moving. They will take it from there! They will give you transfer papers and all that you need. 2nd: When you get to the school that they are transferring to then they will retrieve school records etc. If you already know the school they are transferring to then you are a step ahead. Don't despair, you just have to tell the schools what's up & they will do all for you.

that depends on where you are coming from and going too. If it is the same city the school will get you the information of the schools in your area that your kids can transfer to. If not look in your local phone book or search the net for schools in the area of where you are moving to.

If you are looking for a UK school I suggest you check out www.tes.co.uk and www.ofsted.gov.uk to see what the schools are like in your new area. Chances are the good ones are over-subscribed but telephoning the schools directly is a good option as they may have waiting lists and vacancies do occur mid year. Don't rely on the LEA - they are obliged to find a school place but it may not be at a school you would choose...

check on the local authority website for the schools details look at their reports and then contact the schools ask for a visit to the school and a prospectus some schools allow your child to have half a day in the school so your children can have a feel of how the school runs good luck and dont worry children settle in school quickly

Contact new school to make arrangements for your children to transfer to,inform the school they are attending now and they will get everything ready for your children to take to the new admin office A portfolio for each child. This is what happened when my gran daughter recently moved areas

2. research the available options in the area you are moving to

3. have all records mailed or faxed to the new school BEFORE you move

4. try to visit the schools that your child may enroll in or at least call and make contact with the principal

best way is to contact the local education department. They should give a list of schools in the area. Also official details of such (IE stats). you may also search on the net putting in the area name and then schools to see if any come up

First you need to get in touch with the local school in your new town. They will basically direct you although you will also need to inform your children's current school of the transfer specifying date and location. They will no doubt help you.
