reconnected my ex-lover as friends and he told me that he wanted to punch me everytime in the short relationship we had and when I asked the reason he said I had everything. I had friends, money, a beautiful place and car, hobbies. In the past, he was violent at me. For example, I gave him a t-shirt besides many things I gave him. He loved it so much in the beginning but when he broke up with me for his boss, a month after when I was picking up my stuff, he threw the t-shirt onto my face saying that take your t-shirt too, it didn't fit anyways. This hurt me so much by then. However, even if he was 5 years older than I am and he did not have as much as I do, I loved him so much becuase I see a vulnerability in him and I had compassion for him. He used to say that his father did beat him with leather belt and he blamed me so much and did weird things such as hitting the dashboard while we were traveling 70mph on the highway, constantly showing his fist to me. What is this punch thing?

Anger issues and insecurities. Run, don't walk in the OTHER direction. The fact that he FELT SO FREE TO TELL OTHERS shows how SERIOUS the problem is and WAS. Get away from this man, NOW. I know you hurt and think you can, but he's content to keep "hurting himself," by sabotaging himself. Don't let him drag you down and HE WILL, make no mistake.

Been there, done that, got the t-shirt.

Bubi I'm sorry to hear that this relationship of yours was so dramatic, and that the impact it had on you seems to be a hard one, the best thing I could tell you that this person your X needs help, maybe not from you seeing that you couldn't get through to him but I'm sorry to say I agree with the other ppl that have responded to your question. The best thing is to move on. I hope everything turns out for the best......

from what you have said i think its best to just be his friend for now and try to help him work through his anger issues. he seems nice but there are some flaws
everyone has them and you just need to help him fix them
i know it may be hard but let go of your feelings for him for now and help him so in the end who ever he finally settles down with will have a kind and gentle man
p.s. im sorry people stalk you on here like that lady that says she doenst believe you
shes wierd anyway

This is a guy with so many insecurities about himself he can not see anyone being better than him.
You are going to get nowhere with him, let it go and be with someone who can appreciate you for who you are.

possibly because his father was abusive he equates love to physical abuse. While studying in college we learned that most people who enjoy bondage and s&m came from abusive childhoods were they found comfort and love only when abuse was involved. Needless to say it doesn't sound like a very healthy person to be involved with.

It sounds like it's just his own insecurity. Move on.
