There is a saying that every sinner has a Future and every saint had a past. Why is that we as Humans do not give a chance to those who have sinned ?? to change for the better.
Why is that we look as punishment as always the remedy. Can a person ever forgive people who have ruined or destroyed his family /country.

That depends ...what do you consider punishment? Is it still happening? It's a whole lot easier for people to forgive if and when wrongs are righted by admitting and asking for forgiveness. Forgiveness can also take place away from a situation that just isn't going to stop happening and people know the difference between right from wrong no matter how much of an attempt is made to explain it away. Unjustified rage and anger can be hard to forgive...making someone look like your doing something to them all the time based on illusion can be hard to forgive...constant projection can be hard it's hidious to deal with in a peaceful manner as some see love as hatred I think. There are people out there that expect to be walked around on eggshells and since they are told by society they can do this what then? What if it's family and you've done everything you can do to deal with it?

A person can say "I forgive you" and a person can say "will you forgive me". Which one is more appropriate and should occur first when one has wronged a person...apologizing and asking for forgiveness IMO. If a person approaches another puzzeled at how they were treated and you get attacked again there is nothing more that can be done. If nothing positive is going to happen a person has no other choice than to accept the situation for what it is and walk away. If someone asks what happened tell them the truth and if they can't handle it so what. A person can always love someone from a distance.

There's lots of ways to atone for wrongdoing and it takes a lot of courage to stand up in front of others and say I lied, I stole, I've done wrong etc. On the family or country level it is still much the same. Families were torn apart in South Africa by Apartheid, and white minority rule almost destroyed the country - but they forgave and moved on. If you can't forgive, or accept another person's sincere request for atonement, you can't heal and move on.

It depends i think on what the person did that was wrong in the first place. To destroy someones family well I am sorry but no i could not forgive if it was done intentionally ..

I believe that chances are given out of mercy. But how many chances does it take to make a person change the way he or she thinks? How may chances are too many chances. Given too many second chances, a person may grow to think that they can get away with whatever they want to get away with. There have to be consequences for bad behavior, or especially criminal behavior. Otherwise, no one will chang ethe way they think and continue doing wrong.

I don't think we humans have it in us to do so. That is why no one really understands the idea of God forgiving all in Christ. One believes by faith or doesn't.

I think we do give people chances, just only up to a certain point!
