Why is Bush Wanting to Give Social Security Benefits To Illegal Aliens, If they work for a period of 18 months in the USA, When it takes most US Americans a period of 10 years of paying into it? Plus the White House tryed to Hide this INFO. Is this how Bush is fixing Social Security?

I think it's to gain more votes for Republicans in 2008. However, the fact that he hid this from the American public is morally reprehensible. It just provides further proof that Bush is a DIctator and believes he is not accountable to Americans.

I think everyone needs to get livid about this fact and email Congress immediately. One question on my mind is why are Americans being told SS is about bankrupt, but yet illegals are about to be provided benefits ?

Nobody should be wanting to give ILLEGAL aliens anything, not even jobs. It is time for the silent majority to stand shoulder to shoulder and issue an ultimatum to the powers that be. THE ILLEGALS HAVE TO GO. We, as a nation, can not cope with the many social ills that we currently face such as illiteracy, illigitimacy, homelessness, etc. The Illegals will only worsen these already existing problems. Last but not least, WHAT part of illegal am I failing to understand. If it is OK to disobey immigration laws, then it should be OK to disobey any other laws. And why should I have to learn Spanish or any other language. Americans should establish English as the national language. Some of out citizens have problems with English. What will be happening if they have to learn Spanish? You don't have to be a rocket scientist to understand the numerous negative ramifications. GOD HELP AMERICA!!!!

There was a bill pushed through Congress to this effect in 04, but last I heard it was still sitting on the President's desk unsigned. This hardly justifies wanting to give illegals social security because if that was the agenda why hasn't it been signed? A better question would be. Who really wants to give illegals social security? When the Kennedy/McCain immigration bill was debated and passed in the Senate last year, there was a proposed amendment which would have killed this social security proposal, but it was voted down. I would say you would be better served to look at the Senators who have proved they support this concept, rather than the President who hasn't.

I think he wants to give them benefits so that they have more incentives to stay in the U.S. A lot of people depend on them. They do a lot of the jobs that others aren't willing to do, and for less money. So, in fact, they're giving more to the U.S. then they are taking. Go figure. The White House is hiding this because they don't want to be seen as two-faced: on the one hand wanting to build a wall so no more Mexicans come into the country, on the other hand giving benefits to illegal aliens.
