I was 14. I earned minimum wage. I was a tour guide at the Laura Ingalls Wilder homes in DeSmet, South Dakota.
I busted my *** all summer long- had to wear a stupid prairie girl costume and show people how to churn butter. I had little kids demand pictures with me and old men grope my butt (creepy, huh?)
I would often get sent to the grocery store for things for my boss. Do you realize how many people heckle you when you're in a grocery store wearing a full length dress and bonnet??
I worked there for 2 years and then quit and went to work at a nursing home. I'd rather wipe asses.

I was 16 and got a summer job as a waitress at a friend's cafe. I made something like 25 euros per day, which was fair enough as all I wanted is to have fun and earn some pocket money! Didn't have to quit, I just returned to school by September!

My first job was as a cashier at a grocery store chain called Kroger. I was 16. I earned $5.55/hour and eventually got a raise (after a year and a half) of 33 cents. I quit because I found a waitressing job.

My first job was at Winn Dixie. I got the job in order to work with Doug, my cute next door neighbor with the dark hair and forest green eyes. Every day at work was an adventure of flirting with stock boys, inventing excuses to walk aimlessly around the store, and more. I ended up working there a couple of years. I think minimum wage was like 4.25/hour then. I eventually quit and later got banned from the store entirely for having a screaming match with Doug (who had since then become my boyfriend).

I worked at the telephone company after school till 5pm. When I graduated school I started full time.
I was 17 years old.
I made $96.00 week (take home pay).
I didnt quit nor get fired. I worked at that same company for 34 years and retired and now am living in Florida. How's that for a dedicated employee. Anybody else stay as long as me?

I sold newspapers in my school uniform at a stand outside a railway station in the morning before school. I was fourteen. I can't remember how much I earned, but I quit because it was too embarrassing having to deal with all my classmates on their way to school.
