Try TK Maxx. They have loads of evening dresses and if you are prepared to spend time looking through their stuff, you can pick up a class designer bargain. A lot of these are reduced in price now too, as the traditional 'party' period is over.

Have you tried Debenhams? They have a good range at reasonable prices. Have a little shifty round on their website as they have some good stuff in the sale at the minute.

Thrift store..My daughter bought her prom gown there and spent 10.00 dollars..Many around and lots of choice usually for special occassions

tk maxx sell some really nice dresses, many of my friends got there dresses for the prom there

You may be suprised what you can find at second hand shops! We bought one for my daughter "just because" at her last birthday because we find them all over, really pretty and really cheap!

Coast has beaaaaautiful dresses and they aren't too expensive either.
