I have a 1G P3 currently with 256mb of PC133 SDram. I have two memory slots available which can take 512mb each. Obviously this will improve the response of other software etc but will it also improve my broadband (NTL 2mb (clocked at 1.75)).

hi Lalit, The acquire speed wont substitute with Ram. Ram is for the indoors use of the gadget, the place it certainly works is once you replica a report from a million region to different interior your gadget, from disk 2 disk at the same time as burning disks copying or shifting data In all those situations alongside with the booting will result with the RAM, not something suitable with the internet connectivity speedas the BUS speed for all machines is 133 in simple terms. friendly Charan Reddy Hyderabad

It will affect only how fast your computer can process the incoming data to you hard drive. So pages will cache to memory faster and your browser can handle more stuff at once. So, in theory, it does 'sort of' help your overall speed, just not the actual speed of you rinternet connection.
Things on you computer such as spam, toolbars, viruses and such can grind the loading times down to a crawl but your internet speed remains the same. Your ethernet card on you PC can help speed things up if you upgrade it, but not much.
