I know people in their mid to late 30's still doing (illegal) drugs regularly, to me its kind of sad so i don't bother it anymore.

//Funny thing about cannabis is that when you are a teenager it makes you happy, sociable, giggly etc. When you are in your 30's it's a very different story. Because it just magnifies what you are feeling ANYWAY.\\

This is so true, it used to make me laugh when i used to use it years ago at 17, now it just makes me moody and withdrawn, so i don't really bother it anymore.

also the expense part of people spending £60 on an ounce of hash..
i must be an old fart now, but i look at that money as being (for me) better spent on musical gear, instruments, strings, books etc..

I smoked my last joint at 36. That stuff makes people boring. Coke, speed etc I gave up by about 32 as I remember.

Don't forget that one day you might be old, on chemo , MS or something and you might enjoy the odd spliff again. I think it is a good medicine for the elderly or those in pain.

Drugs are for losers, mind you it took me 15 or 20 years to realise. Well done.

(Illegal) drug taking is a personal choice and to say "you shouldn't start in the first place" is a pretty closed-minded view - that view may work for you but there are millions of us all over the world who would beg to differ, and furthermore see little harmful effect in the longterm from doing so.

What age should you give up? When your body starts to tell you that enough's enough, simple as that. If you look after yourself (plenty of good food, vitamins, exercise, vicks synex etc.) then a few less healthy discrepancies in your lifestyle make very little difference.

Crikey andylefty! Where've you been? People abuse themselves with drugs until they die. There is no 'age' for giving up drugs. Only the person who wishes to do so at whatever age that could/would/should be! It would be great if we could say "Oh, hey, you're 30 now - so you can give up drugs!" If it was that simple there would be a lot of drug pushers out of business. Not even near-death experiences convince a person that giving up drugs might be a good thing! If a person is hell-bent on killing him/herself with drugs nothing and no-one will change it. Gotta give a lot of credit to those who do give them up though. I believe it is very hard - especially after several years of abuse.

Some people think they are way cool doing drugs.
Of course its stupid and those people probably don't have a life or if they do their brains are so screwed up they have no concept of right or wrong.
Any age is good to quit.

I think no one should start with drugs. They do not solve anything and they don't make you feel better. They only create more problems. So my answer is NOW, if you use - you'll lose! lol

I am seven months clean off Meth. It was more a personal choice and not based on my age. I'll be thirty this year. If a person quits I think it's because they choose to, not because of their age.

If it is only MJ prolly not too big a prob. The other stuff, if using at forty, and keep with it, they will prolly not make 60.

really they should never start, not only does it harm your body , the lasting effects of it or sometime irreversible, and can cause other problems down the road, like did you know smoking pot could cause a person to have MS...never start and you don't have to worry about it
