Just told by who i thought i was getting it from that they have no record of an account .how do i find out online? cheers

Look at your internet service bill, the providers name should be at the top.

An ISP is just an internet service provider.Who supplied your cable modem?Or who is your phone service through?Are you using a laptop.If so, just take a look at your network connections and refresh the list of availabe networks to see which one ur pulling from.

You can find it from the bill that is reaching you. You can also find it from the home page that your issue has provided you.

Type in your default ip address and login to this web console of your modem and you will find the default settings from your ISP and you can find him.
