Its a nuisance and causes problems with blocking things that are wanted. We never asked for it - it just came and I wish it'd disappear. Please help

go to control panel then add/remove programs and find out in the list "Google toolbar" and click there to uninstall it.

Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs
Look down through the installed programs and find the Yahoo Toolbar
Click on it to highlight it
A "Remove" button should appear
Remove it
Note: if the Yahoo Toolbar was installed as part of another program you downloaded (and 99% of the time that is how you get it), that other program may stop working properly if you remove the toolbar.

Right click on it and uncheck google.
