It comes from a germanic tribe called "Suiones" (Sueones, Sweonas, Suehans, Sviar or Svear). I believe the word "Svear" is the origine of "Sverige", which is the name of the country in Sweden.

Yes, that's right... I found out that "Sverige" comes from "Svea rike", which means "Realm of the Swedes".
