I have just noticed my McAfee Virus scan is not working. I logged onto their Security Centre,tryed to enable it and got this msg.
Some components of Active Shield are either missing or might not have been installed properly. Its been working fine until just now. Could I have inadvertently done something . I would be grateful for any help. Thanx

I think you should un-install it and run the MCAfee CD for a new installation the problem would be solved

I get that ALL the time.. no you didn't do anything..if you hover over the icon in your tray on the bottom right click, then scroll up to Virus Scan..sometimes there is an "enable" button that will appear as well ..then just click enable.. as of late I have noticed there is no such button either so I have to log off my system entirely and then reboot. When I reboot it comes up okay.

I suggest that you should change your anti-virus program to Avast at avast.com. This is free for non-commercial user and it will update virus database by itself. it means that you don't have to worry about computer virus anymore.

If you still have the disk try re-installing.

I dunno. But I believe your Windows Firewall (XP only) i malfunctioning too, right?
