Well as a survivor of a husband who committed suicide last year and an EMT who has seen alot more than any human should have too...I beleive the number 1 reason for suicide is the deep down cant get away from it feeling of defeat, nothing is good or ever will be in life and there is no reason to continue. These victims even feel that everyone they know will be better off without them. Little did he know....he would be missed more than anything and leave an empty hole in the hearts and minds of those who loved him even if he didnt think they did.

Nobody can really say what the number one reason for suicide is since nobody can really say what was in the mind of the person when they suicided, even if they left a note. I would have to belive though that an overwhelming sense of failure or loss in something is at heart, whether love or money or something else. Keep in mind though that a suicidal mind is not a rational mind.

Depression, people not thinking they are good enough..Suicide is the worst way out, no one should do it, there is someone out there that will listen to you and help you, its not worth ending your life for nothing, they say most people that commit suicide regret it right before they die, like its been said by paramedics that have to come to the scene that a lot of the guy/girls last words will be "what did I do"...and its sad because there is no coming back. NO ONE SHOULD EVER DO IT OR THINK ABOUT IT, LIFE ISN"T THAT BAD! Just ask for help through your depression.

The leading "reason" for suicide (at least in the teenage and college age range) is the loss of a significant other.
A break up, death, or divorce. It is tied to that feeling of loneliness and helplessness and despair.
There can be lots of reasons for attempting/comitting suicide. The person just feels that this action is the best action.
As one person above me said.. "THERE IS NO REASON BLAH BLAH BLAH"
I can totally understand his sentement.. thats just not what you say to a person.... They are not just going to be like oh.. okay you are right. They need support.. but that support consists of a person just sitting accross from them listening.

According to Edwin Shneidman, a leader in the field of suicidology, suicide results from “psychache,” a word he coined to describe the unbearable psychological pain arising largely from frustrated psychological needs.

depression, loneliness and heart broken, they are all ingredients to suicide. I think that anyone of them could be the number one reason.

Too much debts lead to depression, lead to a broken marriage
lead to losing friends, so , I think debts is number one.
